Here is Maha Kaali Kannada cinema facing ordeals in one way or the other. Many prayers, Homas, rituals and sacrifices were conducted to the smooth flow of the film shooting. Two songs shoot is remaining and tension among the team members has built up.

Malashri playing the lead role for the first time surprised her husband Ramu in the house by saying ‘I am not going to shoot’. There was vibration throughout the shoot and starting trouble was always there for the shoot so far recalls Malashri.

We had to cut ‘Lemon’ and sacrifice for appeasing Goddess Kaali. Many have told to drop ‘Kaali’. There was accident to one of the actors on the sets. For Malashri even the media persons looked like ‘Lemons’. The heart beat was going fast. At the beginning all the members of the team went to Sri Chamundi Hills for prayer and then commenced shoot. Remove ‘Kaali’ was the suggestion given remembers Malashri. Malashri gave up eating non vegetarian throughout the schedule of this film.

‘Maha Kaali’ subject going to 11 directors finally arrived at S Mahender. In my home also there was negative approach to take up this film. When I did ‘Karpoorada Gombe’ Hamsalekha said don’t keep that title, when I took up ‘Kaurava’ the same statement was made. This is the third film of my career facing such feedback. Mahender remembers a mark on his back for a few days shooting for this ‘Maha Kaali’. I am from the place of Kollegala that is famous for ‘Yantra and Mantra’ says Mahender.

Producer Ramesh Kashyap also felt ill for some days. He went to temple to perform Homas.
